Residential

Isha_Srinidhi Nilaya

Located in HMT layout, Bangalore, Isha_Srinidhi Nilaya is multi-generation home designed on a compact 60x40 ft.(2400 sq.ft)) East–facing plot with a total built-up area of 8000 sq. ft. Facing a lush public Park, the residence is conceived as a layered response to its Urban setting-balancing the needs for privacy with a strong desire to connect visually and spatially with the green expanse across the street. The design strategy revolves around maximizing natural light ventilation and views achieved through the instigation of a double–height courtyard, organizing and garden–facing balconies on all habitable vertical space levels. A deliberate effort was made to open up the building envelope towards the East, allowing major functions like the kitchen, dining, bedrooms, and terrace garden to enjoy uninterrupted garden views and early morning light. The house is vertically organized across four levels. The ground floor accommodates a car drop-off zone, parking for three vehicles, a formal living room, a Guest Bedroom, a Home theatre, and a maid's room with a separate entrance, ensuring privacy for domestic staff. This floor functions as a semi-public base with service and guest amenities tucked efficiently into the plan. The first floor acts as the social and spiritual heart of the house. It features a double-height formal living area that opens into a linear courtyard, bringing in daylight and enabling passive cooling. A puja room, kitchen, and dining area are placed strategically as per South Indian Vastu on the east faces to fulfill the Vastu benefits, and same way, it benefits from front park views utilization. A master bedroom on this floor ensures privacy for the primary residents while maintaining proximity to communal spaces. On the Second floor, the layout shifts to a more private tone, with two large master bedrooms, family living, and a study with library space. Each space is extended with balconies facing the garden, offering shade and transitional zones between indoor and outdoor. These spaces allow for leisure and contemplation while maintaining visual continuity with the exterior. The third floor is focused on wellness and relaxation, housing a gymnasium in a multifunctional space, a laundry area, and a terrace space with a planter box with lush green plants. The front east public park views serve as a green retreat at the height level, ideal for family gatherings and quiet reflection in the evening. Materially, the house employs a mix of exposed concrete, natural stones, woods, terracotta tiles, and glass- creating a warm, durable, and climate-responsive palette. The thoughtfulness of lights, air, and greenery defines the identity of the home.

BODHISATWA | Tumkur Location : Tumkur, Karnataka Category : Residential Builtup area : 3200sqft Site area : 1200sqft Client : Private Status : Completed | 2024 Designed for a family of four, this residence is located on a compact 30’ x 40’ corner-adjacent plot at the end of a dead-end road. The site benefits from an open plot along one side, which became a key design opportunity. The planning strategically utilizes this edge to introduce larger openings, allowing abundant natural light and cross-ventilation throughout the home. The house is organized to balance functionality and spatial comfort within a modest footprint. It accommodates four bedrooms along with a well-connected living and dining area. A dedicated family living space, designed to function as a library, serves as a quieter retreat within the home. This space opens onto a generous balcony that enhances the indoor–outdoor connection and further improves daylight and airflow. The primary design focus was to maximize natural light, reduce dependence on artificial lighting, and ensure continuous air movement across all levels. Window placements, proportions, and orientation were carefully considered to create bright, breathable interiors despite the compact site conditions. A minimal design language defines the overall character of the residence. Clean lines, uncluttered forms, and a restrained material palette create a calm and timeless aesthetic. The use of a limited colour scheme enhances visual coherence while allowing natural light and shadows to become key spatial elements. The result is a simple, efficient, and light-filled home that responds sensitively to its context while prioritizing comfort, sustainability, and everyday livability.

a+me OFFICE | Bengaluru Location : HMT Layout, Bengaluru Category : Commercial Carpet area : 850sqft Client : a+me architects Status : Completed | 2021 Located in HMT Layout, Bengaluru, the A+ME Architects office is designed within a compact commercial space of approximately 850 sq. ft. carpet area. The design approach focuses on maximizing the usable area while creating a functional, open, and efficient work environment. The layout accommodates all essential functions, including a reception area, conference room, open workstations, a Principal Architect’s cabin, and a compact pantry. Glass partitions are used to define these spaces, allowing visual continuity and enabling natural light to flow across the office. This helps maintain a sense of openness despite the limited footprint. The design is driven primarily by functionality, with careful planning of circulation, workspace allocation, and storage to ensure a clean and organized environment. A minimal colour palette and simple material finishes create a calm, professional atmosphere that reflects the studio’s design ethos. Small pockets are thoughtfully created to accommodate indoor planters, adding a touch of greenery and improving the overall workspace ambience. The result is a compact, efficient, and minimal studio interior that balances practicality, openness, and comfort within a limited area.

AASSARE

AASSARE | Nagarbhavi Location : Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru Category : Residential Builtup area : 7500sqft Site area : 3750sqft (50’ X 75’) Client : Private Status : Ongoing Set within a dense urban fabric in Nagarbhavi, Aasare occupies an irregular plot of approximately 3,750 sq.ft (75’ x 50’). The design responds to the constraints of the odd-shaped site by turning inward, organizing the home around a central courtyard that becomes the spatial and visual anchor. All primary spaces are oriented toward this internal void, drawing in light, ventilation, and a sense of openness while ensuring privacy from the surrounding context. The courtyard acts as a microclimate regulator and a quiet retreat within the city. The material palette is intentionally restrained and honest—exposed concrete, natural wood, and steel form the primary expression. Raw textures and structural clarity define the architecture, balanced with clean lines and contemporary detailing to maintain a modern outlook. Aasare is conceived as a calm, inward-looking urban home where light, material, and void shape a simple yet enduring spatial experience.
